Grumpy

This baby Dunnock has been hopping around the garden today,still being fed by the adult.
We thought we had plenty of starlings the other day but that was an understatement as there were at least 20 in the garden and more than 60 in the field ! They are having a good year.
The bluetits are still in the box!
The Dunnock is sitting on some Pudding stone that we bought with us from Hertfordshire.It might look like a lump of concrete but is a conglomerate that consists of distinctly rounded flint pebbles.The colours of the stones contrast with the matrix of fine light coloured sand making it look like a christmas pudding.
We like this stone especially when cut and polished and also because we used to live in Pudding Lane!
