Learning the ropes
This young Great spotted woodpecker is starting to learn how to use the feeder. You can just see it's red patch on it's head and a slightly lighter pink under the tail.
It's great to watch it as it balances on the feeder. Looks like there has just been one fledgling this year. I've seen Mum around still feeding it now and again.
Fledglings today included at least 3 goldfinches. I'm always surprised how noisy the young are, it's surprising they are not caught more often.
A day of tidying up and more washing. Not a bad day and had to water as the pots had dried out. I nearly blipped the beautiful poppies or the clematis which are looking the best I have ever seen but Woody won.
