Bolton Castle

Five days, five castles!

Woke up to a grey Yorkshire day. Heat wave in the south apparently, and torrential rain in Scotland :((
We all trooped off to Bolton Castle which is nowhere near Bolton, it’s near Leyburn.
A great place to visit, part ruined, part restored. Loads of climbing up tiny staircases.
Took this from the top of the castle where we enjoyed great views.
Then headed off to Aysgarth for lunch and a walk to the lovely Aysgarth Falls. The sun came out!
Rugby World Cup and games in the evening till the wee small hours.
