First frost!

We have had the craziest weather in the first weeks of October.
Last week we had just returned from a lovely few days in East Sussex with temperatures in the 20+ degrees every day. Our day at Hampton Court last Saturday the temperature reached 25 degrees C! 
Returning north we knew it would be cooler but we had a few more days of unseasonably warm weather before the autumn coolness arrived. A touch of frost in places on Thursday morning but this morning, after a very clear night last  night, we had a sharp frost as you can see on my car windscreen first thing. Wonderful patterns.

Chris has been putting his tender plants away. After losing so many just year I think he will be using a bit of heat this year in the green house.

It’s been lovely and sunny but pretty chilly all day. The winter duvet is on and the heating, we’d better get used to it!
