Corpus Christi

We rang at two churches in the morning, both very close to each other. We accidentally stumbled into Corpus Christi College while looking for the first church. Both churches had rings of six bells. The second church had particularly difficult bells to ring as the bells were heavy and the ropes stretchy. The others ringers went for a guided tour of Cambridge churches that have lost their bells. One of our ringing helpers has just completed a PhD researching 18th and 19th century bells in Cambridgeshire. It was pouring with rain so we decided to skip the tour and have a quiet afternoon packing and getting sorted for a very early departure tomorrow.
