The Long Step

Ruby was off school with a cold, the school thought it a good idea so it wasn't spread. So, we had Ruby for the day and, despite the warnings about storm Babet (why do they have to give them names now!) here, in Gloucester, it was sunny, most of the day, and warm. We went to the park in our coats but soon dispensed with them when we found the sun really warmed us up.
I took two microfibre cloths with me to dry off the swings, roundabout, slide and see-saw, lucky I did because although we were in warm sunshine there had been a lot of rain during the night so water was standing on everything. We had the park to ourselves as everyone was at school, or work.
Ruby managed to climb up and down those steps, the slide is off to the right, but it was a long stretch for her little legs.
