In The City

Selfridges? Harvey Nicholls? Trams? We’re definitely not in downtown Kendal today!
We’ve got tickets to see Larkin Poe in Manchester tonight and Mrs C has a photography course this afternoon, also in Manchester. So while she is busy taking pictures of models, I have been left to my own devices in the city centre. So far, I’ve managed to buy three CDs - one I wanted, one Mrs C will like and one I’ve already got, which has now been reissued with bonus tracks so my completist/OCD brain told me I just had to have it.
I’m currently sat in M&S cafe enjoying a cake and a drink, before venturing back into the menswear department to attempt to buy a pair of trousers. I mean, how difficult can it be to find a smart pair of black trousers in my new, slimline, size? Well, pretty difficult, as it turns out. I originally wanted a suit but whatever style or colour I looked at I could find either a jacket that fitted, or trousers that fitted, but not both in the same style/colour.
I have found a pair of trousers on their own that will do the trick, but they’re made from a resolutely non-stretch fabric so I’ve had to go up a size from what I bought the other day, which doesn’t feel right. I’m going to get them anyway and ask Mrs C for her opinion - M&S do have a very good returns policy if you change your mind!
Just enough time now to look round a few more shops, before meeting Mrs C for a bite to eat before the gig. It’s probably a bit too rainy/windy (thanks Storm Babet!) to go as far as Johnny Roadhouse Music and look at guitars but, never say never…
