Contrasts
We were both feeling a bit wabbit this morning and relaxed over breakfast and coffee, reading the papers and doing all the word puzzles. I started writing the laureation I need to do…lot of cutting and pasting!
Couldn’t shift my headache so had a snooze over lunchtime and by then it wasn’t still dull and damp as it had been earlier so we drove down to Portobello to get some fresh air. The effects of Storm Babet were visible everywhere….lots of sand blown up onto the prom, and shells scattered everywhere. Down by the shoreline there were loads of dead starfish and other clams and shellfish, as well as shells with some sort of liquid filled sacs attached. Can’t find out what those were having spent quite a while googling!
The sun came out and we enjoyed a good long walk, exploring and collecting shells and admiring the waves which were still quite lively although yesterday’s wind had dropped and watched the one swimmer who ventured out into the swell. Gave us both a lift to get out and make the most of the brightness and the spectacle.
We stopped off at the supermarket to get some food shopping then home for a cup of tea. Sa settled down to sort out my knitting ….the pattern was really irritating me so has been in a bag for months but we worked out a new approach and whilst I made lamb and apricot tagine, followed by cranachan, she undid all the earlier rows and restarted it.
We ate supper whilst watching Strictly then decided to download Barbie as Sa hadn’t seen it and watched that too…
