Receding flood

I took this from inside the car on our way out to pick Colin up to go to Katy and Colin’s for supper at 6.30 tonight. Yesterday it was totally covered.

Last night after midnight when we got back we found a moat surrounding the house. Water had continued to pour off the hill and had nowhere to go as drains were blocked. Mr C went up into the woods to try to clear the drains but by the morning it was blocked again. But that’s nothing compared with what others have had to contend with. Some areas of the village had to be evacuated.
