A dull damp start to the day. I fed the birds and sorted the recycling.

By 11 o’clock it was brighter. I had a sandwich and headed to Windermere. Lots of others had a similar idea and fortunately for me most were driving towards Ambleside.

I got the one item I needed from Lakeland, resisting everything else I passed on my route around the store.

Then tried to find a roadside parking space. Not easy but I did on my second circuit of Windermere centre.

My walk was in the Orrest Head area but not going to the the summit.

The traffic jam had disappeared by the time I drove back home.
