Singing in the Rain in Óbidos
Didn't do justice to Óbidos (that I kept calling Ávila) because it was tipping it down, on and off, but mostly on. An extra of the cherry liqueur the town is famous for; the shop owner allowed me to use a bottle in the shot "as long as I didn't get it wet". Another extra of the castle, which had been being used as a film set, where you can see Mike and Sharon under their umbrellas.
The final extra is of the Casino in Estoril, where we are spending the night (not in the Casino!), which was the gathering place for all sorts during WWII, and was the inspiration for Ian Fleming's first Bond story, Casino Royale - taken through the rainy car window.
Gratefuls:
- being in a warm flat and not against a damp medieval wall like we were last night
- Mike driving us safely here through constant rain
- have I said? my sister is home and doing well on her oral BP medicines
