I saw so many nice things
I had to do another collage
I’m staying with my old friend A in Manor House - near Finsbury Park. We walked along the New River which was opened in 1613 to bring fresh drinking water from Hertfordshire to east London. First an Egyptian goose, which was charming, I thought. I don’t seem to see them in Bristol. Then the Woodberry Wetlands which is managed by the London Wildlife trust and is a lovely place to walk - it was the East Reservoir - holding the water from the new river. Now there are water birds, particularly those in transit, but also locals who live there all the time like herons, swans, ducks. Those tower blocks are very desirable apartments - the ones with a view of the water, and a balcony, are over £1million. Next is a wonderful glowing white duck with a colourful back. I’ve never seen one before and I’ve no idea what it is. Next a grown up cygnet. There were 5, together with their parents, still living in a group, all looking fine. Next is a cat who wouldn’t look at me to have his picture taken. He was in a little cafe where we stopped off to get coffee on our way back. I made that squeaky noise which usually gets a cats attention, but not him. I expect it’s boring being admired by a stream of humans passing by. More important to get on with cleaning your face. Finally the naughty squirrel in A’s garden - through the window which is why it’s a poor photo - who has dug up and eaten her tulip bulbs. He sat on the garden gate eating one, and looking as us with a cocky expression. Brazen!
