blustery

Storm Debi blew in, blew around and blew out again. There was a lot of rain and the Cluden flooded into the fields around Irongray. The waterfall at Routin Brig looked spectacular in spate. Amazingly, no water ran down our drive - it has been well repaired :-)

I headed into town for my aquaerobics class. The instructor today was Colin, who (the rumour went) was "ex-military". It was a good class. My muscles feel well exercised. I put my feet up in the sauna afterwards and then walked around the town. These yellow flags outside Kings Coffee Shop always look cheery on the greyest of days.

I've been moving leaves this afternoon - the Boston Ivy on front of the house was beautifully red in October, but is now almost bare. Six big wheelbarrowfuls of leaves have been wheeled into the woods so far and there are more to go. It was getting too dark to see properly by 10 to 5 so I came inside.

Time to make the tea now - dhal and rice with apple crumble to follow.
