Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

What a lot of news today! The PM was busy re-shuffling things and surprising everyone. Ministers being sacked, old ones appearing back, people swapping jobs. But I missed it all as it happened, about 9am, for I was listening to an ABC 'Conversations' with Shannelle Dawson. Some people may remember the 'Teacher's Pet' podcast, which looked at a 'cold case' and it eventually led to a re-trial and the husband was convicted, over 40 years later, of murdering his wife. The couple had two small daughters, and he'd told them that their mother had left them. She was talking about her life and the trauma of realising her mother had not just left the family without a word, she had been murdered. By her father.

I also listened to a podcast on how the Sydney Opera House was conceived, and built. In fact, I have done practically nothing today. I haven't even gone outside. Archie has been very understanding, and has patiently waited for JR to take him out.

Busy day at the airport tomorrow. Hazel arrives back from her sunshine holiday, and my cousin from Northern Ireland is arriving for a flying (shopping) visit.
