Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

Elizabeth came to take Archie out today instead of Saturday. It's great that now she's semi-retired, she's more flexible with the weather, and we expect rain tomorrow.

He and I had a walk round the Links in the morning, so he's well tired this evening. JR and I went into town to meet up with Becky, who used to take him out years ago, but then moved cities. We met in John Lewis for a cuppa, and caught up with her life in Newcastle, which she loves.

After that I took the tram along Princes Street, but I really couldn't be bothered looking at all the Christmas Market detritus. Sorry - but I can't get into the spirit of it, it just an eyesore to me. But I'm certainly in the minority - it's always mobbed.

Once we had found the correct latest episode of The Crown, we watched three episodes. Really enjoyed it - it was quite kind to everyone, especially Dodi. And it ended dramatically, but it was not voyeristic at all, with just an unseen (but heard) car crash in the tunnel. I did notice that when they were in the car going to the Ritz, Diana and Dodi had seatbelts on, but when they left they left the Ritz on the final time, as we know, they did not have seatbelts on. Why?
