Friday: Clathrus Ruber
It’s so interesting to see the different plants and growth here. And because it’s so warm and humid things seem to grow very quickly here.
This particular plant has us fascinated at the moment. It’s a clathrus ruber, but also called stinkhorn because it’s so smelly. That said, I can’t smell anything…….
The most fascinating thing is how quickly it grows. Last night, it was the size of a small quail’s egg, encased in a white shell. When I got up this morning, it had burst out and was the size of a small tennis ball.
