Bring on Spring

It's a bit early, I know, to yearn for Spring, but Mrs B and I spent about an hour planting a "natural mix" of daffodils on this grass verge outside our fence.  When we arrived I thought that the verge belonged to the property, as the previous owner had the grass cut; I decided against all that extra work and let the grass grow into a meadow in the Summer of 2021.  It turns out that it is public land so I need not have worried about reasons for leaving it to grow.

However, the daffodils will brighten it up, complementing the natural wild flowers (we hope); the local hedge trimmer will cut back the grass in the next few weeks to help the process.
