Inbound from Holland

My friend Debs’ husband flew into Headcorn this afternoon from Holland in his Cessna 140. Meanwhile Debs drove home direct to Northamptonshire. She called me to let me know he had 80nm to run which would get him into the airfield just after 4pm. I spoke to ATC and next I heard he’d called up on radio from Dover.

Arriving just before sunset I’d arranged for him to overnight at a friend’s new AirBnB in a nearby village. He hopes to depart Friday for his onward journey due to heavy rain forecast tomorrow and low cloud over the downs.

We enjoyed a pub supper and talking all things aviation while a band played. It made a nice change to be out.
