Do as the tourists do....
The Parisian morning met us with the first challenge of navigating the Metro with my 20 year old GCSE French language skills.
As you can see they served us suitably to get us to the Eiffel Tower....the 600 or so steps to the deuxiéme etage delivered stunning 360° views & a number of photo opportunities.
We continued to with our tourist trip to the sights laid out before us.
The outrageous pomp of the Arc d'Triomphe, a stroll down the Champs-Élysées, to the Place de la Concorde & into the Tuilieres Gardens (where a snooze was had by my companion!) & then onto the Louvre. The glass pyramid is utterly spectacular & it was a shame that the queue for entry was so long.
A return trip must definitely feature an inside visit!
We headed back on the Metro to the winding streets & Amelie film setting of Monmatre.
A hike to Sacre Coeur was again rewarded with views & inside an impromptu & unexpected service.
Portraiture & shop browsing followed before we indulged in a delicious cheese board & carafe of rouge.
My limited recollections of francais assisted so not to make us look like total ignoramuses!!
A good day of sights, not so good on the pins but hey, what do you expect with a city break?'
