Tea and cake

I did some admin first thing and then walked up to a friend’s house for tea and cake. Most of our English friends had been invited so I had the opportunity of catching up with a few people who I had not seen for a while. The cakes were excellent. There was a coffee cake, a cherry and almond cake, a plum cake, a ginger cake, a fruit and walnut cake and some chocolate and alcohol bites. It was tempting to try a little of each but I restrained myself. I would be lying, however, if I said I restricted myself to a single slice! I was back in time for a light lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon looking through old photos and trying to find inspiration for my next painting. I then watched some sport.
