Diary of an Edinburgher

Brodie with added flora

As I was washing the tea and breakfast dishes this morning (they sometimes don't get done until JR is about to return...) I looked out and saw Brodie's mum hanging the washing out in the shared back green. And Brodie was out there too on a long lead! The grass is FULL of daisies and buttercups, but the grass man cometh today to chop them all off. So I couldn't miss that opportunity!

I downed tools and rushed out. Brodie on a lead is much better for taking photos! Haha! Except, of course, being black with lots of black hair over his dark dark eyes, in most of the photos he's just a hairy black blob. I even resorted to flash. If you call his name to get him to look at you, he takes it as an immediate invitation to charge and lick the camera, but he was looking at his mum in this shot, just before he leapt.

He has the most beautiful curly hair - like Elizabeth Taylor in her heyday. Or more like King Charles the something-or-other.

When I came back upstairs, 143 shots later (mostly useless) the tap was still dribbling at a steady rate and the sink was almost to the top. I've flooded the kitchen before, because for some reason the overflow doesn't work. Just as well Brodie obliged I gave up when I did.

I have spent the morning with Uncle A, shopping and ironing, but I had intended popping in to town to see what I could see. However, it is SO hot and muggy (don't laugh - it's probably about 18 degrees), and I missed the bus, so I just came home, and Brodie will feature today, and I will relax on the sofa with a good book. Possibly the Rod Stewart autobiography, which I acquired. Don't mock!
