Great tit, great morning

(rubbish title ;)))

What an absolutely gorgeous morning we had - pretty good afternoon too, come to that!  So of course I went to the reserve in plenty of time and stopped for a chat with my warden friend.  On the whole, though, there weren't many people about, with the paths awash after yesterday's rain, and fewer people always tend to mean seeing more wildlife - a lot of small birds, the deer, the squirrel, the buzzard, waterbirds (but no kingfisher).

Later it was town for some Christmas shopping.  The crowds are enormous, even on a weekday, cars everywhere, coaches parked all over the Broadway, buses unable to get into the bus station, tempers beginning to fray - oops, oh dear!  Never mind, the afternoon has been relatively peaceful.
