St. John’s, Benwood
We stayed up way too late night. The Kenny G concert was fantastic but we did not get home until around 10:30. Then we rehashed his performance until midnight. Six-fifteen got here way too early this am. Today is the Feast of Mary’s Immaculate Conception. We found a Mass that would work with our schedule at a new church for us. It was simple but beautiful. “The former St. John Church was destroyed by fire March 30, 2015. The new church was constructed in 2017.” It seats 150 parishioners although only a few were at this Mass. The priest was very amicable and welcoming. As we got to our car, we noticed the cutest bird nest. It looks like someone has installed a metal reinforcement around it. When we got back home, it was lunch time - homemade pizzas. My sister had cleaned a large portion of the house while we were gone. Hubby and I cleaned our level, completed two loads of laundry and packed as much as we could tonight. I usually have three loads of laundry after a trip. It feels great to have that task all done. We plan to visit a neighbor’s new son and then head to dinner in town. We will be going to a Christmas concert tonight at 7:00, the perfect way to end our time in WV. We stumbled across this wonderful living Nativity before going to the concert. See extra. My sister and BIL may stay one more day. I have to get back for Brooklyn’s first basketball game of the season and to stay at her house when her parents go to a concert in PA. Hope you have plans for a fun weekend. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “Church is not just a building; it’s a place for believers to gather and unite in worship.” – Unknown
