Drying Off
First and foremost, thanks to everyone who commented on my blip and blip birthday yesterday. It’s much appreciated and was quite unexpected.
Today has had a few small surprises including thunder and lightning with torrential rain. I was inside working, but Andy was out in the field with Merlin. I had my own mini drenching later when I tried to wade along a flooded road (aptly called River Street). I had to beat a retreat and find another route through the village.
These lights greet those visiting The Cricketers pub. It’s one of three pubs in the village and is the most traditional/unaltered, and serves only drinks and snacks. At this time of year it has a well stoked fire and looks a cosy place to spend a few hours.
Gratefuls for today:
- Not to get a soaking like that experienced by my fellow housemates.
- The spicy Chai tea in our advent calendar.
- Homemade celeriac soup for lunch. Another warming treat!
