Christmas in the office

We walked into the office, this morning, where I had to deal with something disappointing, which ultimately ended in a colleague resigning. (Although the was definitely the right decision.)

Anyway...

That done, we walked back home, I went for my guitar lesson, and then we headed on up to Kirkby Lonsdale.

In the evening, we went over to Windermere for dinner at Tim Farron's 'Sovereign Club'. It's always a roll of the dice as to whom you'll meet and end up sitting next to at these events, but on this occasion it worked out splendidly for both me and the Minx.

I was actually a little worried for a while but after looking 'round a few times and seeing how much she was enjoying herself, I was able to focus on my neighbours, who turned out to be tremendously interesting. (The husband had worked for the World Bank, and they'd lived in some incredible places, including Uganda and Moscow.)

We'd elected to stay at the hotel where the meal was being held, so as everyone else went on their way, we were able to grab another glass of wine before taking the short trip to bed.
