Driving home

We did a few errands in Morpeth and got home before dark.

Poor James slipped in the playground yesterday and had to go to hospital as his elbow was gashed open. He was very brave when they were poking about and is showing off his bandage at school today. However tomorrow he has to have a general anaesthetic to get further work done on it. They did an X-ray so perhaps see grit left in it that needs removing to prevent infection. Phil is calm in such situations so it’s likely he’ll take James in as daughter would be too upset seeing her little boy go under.

The environmental health agency phoned with a lengthy questionnaire re the shigella and was surprised the GP had not told us to isolate. I told her we’d followed the guidelines on the NHS website so had isolated and we’d now completed the antibiotics. She wanted to know the names of all the restaurants and hotels we’d eaten in for the week before we got ill. I hadn’t a clue and what good would that information be to them - I’m sure they’d not be sending inspectors to Madagascar.
