A beautiful sunset

I took this from the house at 3.45. It was glorious.

Very sad news today - friend Val who has stoically and cheerfully lived as a wheelchair user for 30 years due to MS, died this morning. She got home from hospital last night for palliative care. It was as if she’d hung on to be with her husband and daughter at home. Her daughter is married to friend Linda’s son. They live in Denmark but have been back for a few weeks.

On a brighter note, Phil took James to the hospital this morning. It was decided he wouldn’t need an operation under general anaesthetic - he wouldn’t need anything done at all apart from a course of antibiotics. He was a bit peeved to miss his breakfast and he was home in time for 9am School start. Also good news from parents’ evening is how pleased Thomas’s teachers are with his work, attitude and behaviour. He’s particularly strong in Maths, science and history. He doesn’t get that from his mum or me that’s for sure. Well the Maths and Science bit. (His dad is a medical physicist).

Shona has announced she has Covid. She was at book group 2 days ago but stayed well clear of me as she was worried I might still be shedding shigella. Hopefully we all escape.
