Wound up in Wexford

Paint charts

Our painter seemed reluctant to commit to a date for next year until we'd chosen paint colours, so in amongst other essential admin today, we wandered around the house with Dulux and Fleetwood paint charts.  Colours chosen for lounge, hall and landing, and guest bedroom.

I activated the replacement credit card necessitated by my temporary loss of the old one back in July.  This will be available as a stand by if we need it - our main source of funds will be An Post Currency cards.

And I tried to purchase the computer game requested by my grandson; I want it to go to his grandparents in the UK, where he will be spending Christmas, but for some reason Amazon refuses to deliver it to anywhere other than Ireland.  Told his dad, who will try to purchase, and I can then pay him back.

W valiantly hung around by the gate this afternoon to catch our neighbour's youngsters returning home on the school bus.  We've given them a box of chocolates for Xmas, in an arrempt to mend bridges.  We've also given them my phone number in case of any emergencies whilst we are away.

W said how lovely it was standing in the garden, listening to the birds, and the breeze in the trees.  We do feel very lucky - this house has not been without its problems, but it's the nicest/largest house either of us have ever lived in.

And then, trying to use up the contents of our fridge, W made rather tasty stuffed peppers for dinner.
