Walking home

This blip is a little unusual for me because it's taken right at the start of the "day", in this case at 01:37 in the morning.
We were walking home from yesterday's blip-subject, our dinner at Ann & Mats. We started our walk home taking a shortcut through the forest,  across the beck (there is a small bridge - see extra 3), and following a path trodden out by an unknown walker. Eventually we reached a farm yard and house, and then the road.   We didn't meet a single car on the 3kms of country road between their place and ours so it felt perfectly safe to turn out our head torches and walk home in the darkness. There are no street lights apart from the final 400 meters so mostly we had a wonderful view of the stars and the Northern Lights. As we walked home it was fairly windy so the silhouetted trees are a little motion blurred.
We feel so fortunate to live here where we can see the stars and walk several kilometers along a road without encountering a single car, and where sometimes your walk home is illuminated by the Northern Lights!
This evening the Aurora Borealis was out again, a little brighter but also more fleeting, so I've added a couple of extras. The red tinge is so clear in the extras but in reality it was just about visible to the naked eye.
The first extra is looking east from just outside our house, the second is looking north. At the bottom of that picture is the Plough, with its two end stars (the pointers) pointing the way to the North Star, Polaris, also in the picture.
It's also been catch-up time so I've just filled the last three days of blip, as well as this blip for today.
