5 Jahreszeiten

Today was a chill day. It was really nice to have since most days we're running around from when we get up to when we go to sleep. As I said in the last post, We woke up later today. yuuusss. and went upstairs and ate. went to school. and it was ridiculously hot. I'm pretty used to warm weather, but in the sun it was torture. The schools in Germany also don't have air conditioning so that doesn't help at all. I forgot to write this in an earlier post, but the younger kids (probably middle school age) actually formed a protest outside of the main office because it was so hot. On days as hot as these the kids are sometimes let out of schools because it is so hot and everyone has Gym (Sport Klasse auf Deutsch). Only recently has the office said that that is no longer allowed. The first class was Religion. The teacher seemed very nice and split the class up into groups to talk about projects they had previously made. After this class we somehow ended up with an hour and a half break and sat in the cafeteria because it was hot. And then, all the sudden, the cold weather arrived. It got super windy and cloudy and we all went outside and sat in the grass, enjoying the cool air. It was magical. ha. Next, we had Politics where they were talking about Istanbul and the involvement of other countries in their civil war. I didn't understand most of what was talked about, though. After this we went home and chilled and watched the German equivalent to House Hunters. For dinner we met up with Hanna and Maddie (i thought her name was Mary for some reason....oops. awk.). We went to the Oberstadt and ate at 5 Jahreszeiten (which means five seasons. not really sure what that is supposed to mean). It is a resturant for 18+ people and was super cool because it overlooked the whole city of Marburg(hence the picture). I was able to bond with Maddie a lot over school and boys and all that fun chick stuff. It is also always fun when we go anywhere with Hanna because shes just that kind of person. She's very patient and funny to talk to. I ate wiener schnitzel with fries and Apfelwein. It was DELICIOUS. I had always pictured wiener schnitzel looking exactly like bratwurst, but it was fried and as thin as fish. It was super good. We walked around the city a little and found lockets on the bridge where couples had written there names on and locked them there for all eternity. How cute. We all went home after this and went to bed! As I said, not a super eventful day, but that was well needed.
