I had cause to call in to the lifeguard station a couple of days ago - not this one at the south end, but the main one hidden behind reflective glass overlooking the beach. A swimmer 300-400 metres offshore was bobbing around in the water, not making any progress.
Swim Between The Flags is, apparently, not understood by everyone. Visitors sometimes think it means between the flags is only for swimmers. If you’re playing in the water, or splashing around or can’t swim, then you shouldn’t be between the flags.
The women’s pool wasn’t crowded late afternoon. The bus home was, though.
