Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

JR woke at 5am and cancelled the gym visits. We took it easy today, after the excesses of last night. She went into town later, when Archie went out with Elizabeth. Hazel reminded me to get the meter readings in before the new prices start on January 1st, and I spent quite a long time trying to log into my energy provider. Something has changed and I didn't have the right password, the one I had noted down and dated 'wasn't correct'. Of course, there's no Help Desk available at this time of year. I eventually got it sent in a roundabout way.

Once I'd succeeded in sending my meter readings, I watched 'Lawrence of Arabia' for a while. I had seen it when it first came out, but hadn't really remembered all the dust.

Archie has been a wee bit off-colour of late, not rushing for his kibble, and very 'sooky'- always wanting to sit on my knee. He's never been an avid lap sitter. He always just sits on the sofa beside me and leans his elbow/head on my leg. We think he might have a sore tooth, certainly his breath is not as fresh as it usually is, despite the stuff we put in his water. So we rang the vet, and he's due his 6 month check anyway, so he's going next week. I do hope he doesn't need to have anything done, unless it can be done before we go away on the 8th.
