Let’s Have A Quiet Night In

After three gigs, three Panto rehearsals and four Panto performances, I’m enjoying my first night in the last ten days! Feet up, fire on and a new episode of Vera on the telly.
We even had the luxury of a proper cooked meal tonight rather than just shoving something in the microwave before dashing out.
This afternoon’s performance was a bit of a mixed bag. It was a very young audience and, though they booed and cheered when appropriate, they definitely lost interest during the more “wordy” scenes. We trimmed a bit off the end of Act one today and we’ll take advantage of two days off now to see if - and where - further cuts could be made before we recommence performances on Wednesday.
I am planning on doing absolutely nothing now for the next couple of days, in the hope that I can finally shift this cold. Starting with a long lie-in tomorrow morning…
