Oak tree at Ashton Court
A lovely long walk in Ashton Court in the morning with my friend C and her dog. Grey the whole time, these aluminium grey skies feel a bit like there’s a saucepan lid over us. I love the bare trees in winter - though I’ll be glad to see the leaves come back, too. And I think the big old oak trees are the best. We went to the cafe for coffee and cakes which was very welcome after the cold.
At lunchtime I did an exciting thing - I went to a singing group for the first time. The idea is to join in, and sing in tune if you can, but it doesn’t matter if you can’t. I haven’t sung at all for at least 20 years, I felt my voice was stuck inside. The teacher is inspiring and fun, she started off with warming up and relaxing exercises. Then I found myself able to sing along. It felt wonderful! Hoping to go along every week.
