Drookit ( Soaked to the Skin)

Another typical Scottish Summer Day! 2 cousins & I ventured into Glasgow this morning, a walk along the River Kelvin was planned, but due to the heavy rain showers, we decided to venture inside, so making our way to Glasgow University and a look round the Hunterian Museum! We had to wait for 25 minutes or so for it to open ( 10am) so taking shelter on the pavement and under a stone canopy ( Part of the 1864 University) I caught this young girl struggling up the slight incline and her face told all who saw her.. This wasn't such a good idea, Not in this weather, My cousin Ian said.. Ah! That poor wee lassie's Drookit. At that point I looked at Jim ( other cousin) and we both laughed! Ian asks us why are your two laughing! we both looked at him still laughing and said oh! Nothing Ian, it's all right, well it's your use of the word Dookit, we haven't heard that used for such a long time & with your soft concerning tone of voice ! He paused for a second! Then we all laughed out loud ( the Wee Lassie was well out of ear shot by then) lol
