A Calmer Day

Still cold, but bright sunshine & much less wind. We walked to Cromer via an inland track, wandered around the town & out onto the pier, then back along the beach as the tide was on the way out by then.

The main Blip is, of course, Cromer Pier. I did look at it from above, thinking of the well-known shot which includes the patterns of the paving stones leading into it, but there were vans parked in the way, so this is with the sun on it, from the western side. The theatre is clearly shown, as is the lifeboat station on the seaward side.

The extras show the eroding cliffs, and some of the material at their base, as we walked back towards East Runton. The cliffs are a mix of sand, silt & chalk deposited - and pushed in all sorts of directions - by glaciers. The "rocks" which have slid to the base show clear lines of sediment, though can crumble completely if touched (we only experimented on one tiny piece!). The area's well known for its fossils, though it was too cold to stop & search the debris - & possibly none too safe at the moment!
