That’s Her In The Spotlight

To Grand Central Hall tonight to see one of my favourite bands, This Is The Kit. I think this is the fourth time I’ve seen them, and the third that I’ve Blipped them. It’s always a joy to see them live as their mainstay, Kate Stables, is such a force of nature and just oozes charisma. All four of the band - Kate on vocals, guitar and banjo, Rozi Plain on bass and backing vocals (also a great songwriter and performer in her own right), Jamie Whitby-Coles on drums and backing vocals, and Neil Smith on guitar - are terrific musicians and conjure up a warm and cosy atmosphere even on a chilly night. Kate likes to perform barefoot and said the stage was the stickiest she’d ever performed on, but it didn’t seem to dampen her spirits.

Support was from the excellent Dominie Hooper (definitely one to watch) and her band.
