Snare (as in life beneath the)...

Was holding off for a nice piccie from Aberdeen - but there is a dirty great black cloud hanging about up north so the chances of getting anything other than haar seem slim. (Gave up on the possibility of good gig shots years ago. I am far too small to get anything other than the top of a few heads and they are usually of the crowd!). So, borrowed the sons drums for a bit and took a shot through one of the skins - that badly needs replaced by the look of it.

The pattern that runs across the drum is the metal bit that gives the snare its characteristic tshhhh sound. I'm sure there is a drumming word for it, but I'm not up on these things. So, since I am now talking gibberish, I'm off to see what Neil has to say.
