Morning, Monterey Bay
A very dramatic sky, and then it got sunny and warm, and now it’s cold and darkening. The news people are full of dire warnings about a terrible rain storm coming in tonight. “It’s gonna be a big one!” It’s so easy to get sucked in to disaster mode. We’ve been trying to make things secure, but we can’t mange filling and transporting sandbags, and we can’t do anything at all about the water coming in under the fence from the yard next door, so it is, as they say, what it is. My job is to accept that there is nothing else I can do and just be glad I’m comfortable here at home. Our immediate needs are taken care of, although who knows what will happen in the hills. The ground is saturated and it will be windy and wet. It is advised to stay home tomorrow if at all possible.
We have plans to go to Yosemite in a few days, and their advance forecast is a hoot: the Valley will get either a total of 1-2 inches of rain over the next few days, or accumulate about a foot of snow a night through Sunday. Which forecast would you pick?
