the art walk

Another coffee in Costa Staines because we do not like our local since the old manager was pushed out by the new left and the new one became solely in charge.

Still on the art walk and still in the market square we are pointed to the old Town Hall. since being defunct as a town hall in the last 20 years it has been a theatre which sadly failed, then an upmarket yuppie kind of pub and now it is up for let again. a peek through a broken window revealed some very nice chandeliers. The back of it was once used by Age Concern as a drop in centre then the council took over all the day centres and closed it. They did build a nice modern one across the road to replace it. Whilst that one overlooks the memorial garden it isn't on the banks of the Thames like this was.
