Desperately Seeking Spring

The first day of February and to be honest I'm quite glad to see the back of January. It really has felt like a long month with what has seemed like endless days of grey, dull, overcast, damp and frankly enervating weather, which has only very occasionally been sprinkled with the odd day of sparkling winter sunshine.
However, Spring is just over the horizon and today's image kind of represents that. Today had been another characterless and lifeless day until the sky cleared just before dusk started to descend and I managed to get this shot at the top of our garden - it just felt like that plant shoot in the centre of my shot was desperately reaching out towards the hope of an impending Spring.
