Moving on up...

My son finishes his primary school years tomorrow, along with seven classmates at the unique rural school that is Baldernock Primary School in East Dunbartonshire.
This was the scene before the annual leavers' service began. Seven French dictionaries and seven school ties, a cup for 'Citizen of the Year' and a shield, awarded to the house with the most number of points gained throughout the school year.
Oh and a lovely bunch of wild flowers with their heads chopped off in this picture.
I held it together, as did my fellow mothers, though the head teacher looked a bit moist of eye...
The leavers were great. They did a wee run through of their primary school years and their classmates in P5 & P6 offered up a poetic pen portrait of the P7s.
The whole school - all 43 pupils - belted out the Leavers' Song and all I could think was... Isn't it exciting for them?
A clean slate. Lives to be lived. A wonderful grounding at a school which respects the individual.
Job done. Take a bow teachers! And enjoy the holiday. You deserve it.
