Beacon Balcony Walk

At Beacon Arts Centre on Custom House Quay in Greenock today to have a catch-up with George Wyllie Foundation curator, Lynne Mackenzie.
Lynne is installing an exhibition of George's work called Why is there a ? in Scul?ture which is opening there this Saturday afternoon.
Lynne is usually a lesser spotted Burd when it comes to photographs but I persuaded her to do a long walk on the Beacon balcony for me to Blip!*
Lynne is holding an original Wyllie watercolour George painted to mark a visit to Custom House Quay in 1976 of the Royal Yacht, Britannia.
He painted it in 1986 but 10 years earlier, he was a waterguard based at the Custom House, which you can see to the right of this picture.
The Foundation is giving the painting as a long-term loan to The Beacon. It seems an appropriate place to show it off.

* Actually, I don't think I mentioned I'd be Blipping it... sorry, Lynne!
