Another trig - Harwood Forest
It was a bright sunny morning so Mr C and I decided to grab another trig point. We drove via The Gate and parked at the Gibbet (where people were last hung in 1792) but though it was the most direct route, there was no track so we went further down the road and used an easy forestry track which led us almost to it. We had only 25m to yomp. See Blip.
We came back via Elsdon as Mr C wanted to check there was an easy way to get over the burn for the walk we plan with #2 daughter if the weather is ok tomorrow.
I had a quick lunch as it was book group at Lesley’s. We now have 2 new women, making us 9. Lesley had chosen Wild Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys. She had nothing to say about it. Katy didn’t finish it as she didn’t want to waste her life, whereas Marian and I, the only 2 original members left, could have discussed it for ages. But nobody else wanted to say much about it. Their cruises were more interesting. Adrienne has visited 102 countries, but stayed in few - she knows a lot of the ports though.
Exciting news from Nathaniel. He has an audition with Danny Boyle on Thursday. He knows he’ll be unlikely to get the part as there are dozens of boys going but meeting Danny Boyle with be a thrill.
