Today's the day .................... to go loony

Bit of an EB today because apart from going to get some logs for the fire, I haven't been outside the house at all.  Such a miserable day out there, with really heavy rain and no light to speak of.

So here is a wonderfully colourful painting by Kari Lehr which adorns a fridge magnet that I received at Christmas from my good friend Roma.   Kari Lehr 'lives and paints in the beautiful Crowsnest Pass, Alberta, Canada.  She works primarily in acrylic, often incorporating mixed media. When she's not in the studio she loves to scour the mountain countryside looking for bears and other wildlife to photograph, ponder and quietly enjoy'.

This is what we would call a great northern diver - but in Canada, I believe, it is known as a common loon ........................
