Hillsook Fire Festival

A couple of showers first thing, then cleared into a sunny day.  Beautiful clear night.  Gentle breeze to flat calm tonight. 

Up early, headed out walkies after breakfast, we got caught in a shower too.  Washing out when the sun came out.  Picked up mam, and we headed to Laura's.  Eve flys back to Glasgow today, said our goodbyes.  Met friends in the afternoon, we watched 'All of us Strangers', at the cinema, good movie.  Picked up friend Julie and headed north this evening to see another Up Helly Aa.  Back home, might try a pint later. 

Another Friday, another Up Helly Aa.  The Jarl Squad have had the perfect day for their visiting duties and photos, and the perfect night for a torch lit procession and burning the galley.  The party will continue in various village halls until the early hours of the morning.  Not just the Jarl Squad in the procession, the rest of the squads do silly acts, sketches and dances to entertain the masses.  John Priest in front, with peerie cousin, Roy Mullay, behind.  Northmavine Up Helly Aa, outside the Hillswick Hall, Northmavine.
