Sea Fishing

It’s been a while since we’ve been to Hayling for a walk, but this morning the tide times were favourable so we took Merlin there for a run.

The beach had a good scattering of dogs and walkers, plus a horse and rider. These fishermen told us they’d arrived at 8am in the fog and rain. So far they’d caught a bass and flat fish (may be a dab).

There is a large sandbar just off the beach which forms a shallow area for paddling and swimming, and a spit which it’s possible to walk out on. Care is needed to ensure you watch the tide as it’s possible to get cut off by the incoming tide.

I sowed some chilli and sweet pepper seeds this afternoon.
