An enjoyable day out
We were up very early as we had to be at the bus pick up point by 06:50. We boarded the coach and settled into our seats. There were 38 of us in total - most from the North Otago Garden Club but also some from Kakanui Garden Club. We belong to neither club but were invited to join the trip by a member of the North Otago Garden Club. We had nine gardens to visit in Dunedin (all members of the Dunedin Garden Club), so it was a packed day. All the gardens were beautiful and the owners lovely. They must spend a huge amount of time in their gardens to keep them looking so beautiful, and they must also spend a lot of money on plants. It was a beautiful day in Dunedin, so we were very lucky. We even got to see a cruise ship out on the sea from the last garden, which was high on a hill above Dunedin - a rare sight for us now. We arrived back in Oamaru at 18:30, changed and arrived at the Oamaru Club at 19:30. It was music night, so we met friends there, had dinner and danced the night away, arriving home at 23:30. The moon greeted us as we walked up our street.
The main blip is the garden where we had lunch. The extra shows a very small selection from the day. Yes, there is a cruise ship in the view of the sea.
