Books

The photo I wanted to publish today just didn't come out right. More of that in a bit. Instead you have the photo that I sent the Minx's mum, thanking her again for the Waterstone's voucher that she gave me for Christmas.

If you haven't seen them before, those little books, the '33 1/3' series from Bloomsbury, are an absolute treat. Each one - and there are 189 of them - is concerned with a different classic album.  I doubt I'll buy them all but I'm steadily building up a fair collection.

Today, the Minx and I drove down to Southampton and took the ferry across to the Isle of Wight. Next to the ramp where you board the ferry is an old pier that would make a great photo, but only if you weren't trying to take it from your car and looking into the sun.

Anyway, we had a good crossing and checked into the Royal London Yacht club, at which we were the only residents. It's a quirky place, but I'd recommend it. (Off season that is. In the summer I believe it's booked out by members.)

And in the evening we had dinner with one of our clients at the Trust we're visiting and her husband. They're a lovely couple and it was a nice relaxed evening.
