When Louis met Scarlett

We had an early start this morning to drive 2 hours to Nice airport to pick up Rachel, Scott and Scarlett. Their flight arrived early, although they had a delay of 30 mins on the plane because of a mechanical problem with the steps up to the plane.

Scarlett travelled really well, and we stayed at the airport while she had her milk before setting off for the 2 hour drive back to Bandol. She was asleep for most of the journey and only started to get unsettled about 5 mins before we arrived at the apartment, which is great for such a young baby.

Once we arrived at the apartment Louis met Scarlett for the first time, and he was amazing! He sniffed her and licked her feet and then sat next to her. Once she'd had her afternoon bottle Alan and I took her out for a walk with Louis while Rachel & Scott unpacked and sorted out their stuff. Louis was on his best behaviour, trotting at the side of the pushchair, and when we stopped for a drink he lay down in front of the pushchair as if he was guarding her. Scarlett slept for most of the time and we took lots of lovely photos of her, but we all loved this photo of Rachel & Scarlett with Louis looking like he's smiling.

Tonight we've just chilled out at the apartment and Scarlett had a bath in the little paddling pool I bought her, but that blip is saved for another day :-)
